Jen drives the overall vision for The Creative Executive and guides the team’s other coaches in developing highly customized client experiences.
In 2013, Jen launched The Creative Executive to address the unique challenges facing busy, creative leaders— whether they work in small agencies or large corporations. Her passion is helping high-performing organizations navigate transitions and developing outstanding individual contributors into a new generation of leaders.
Jen takes a highly personalized approach to ensure that all of The Creative Executive’s services are strategically tailored to each client’s specific needs. Sometimes that manifests as coaching sessions or workshops, and at other times, it requires longer-term training or off-site experiences for teams. She also developed and offers The Creative Executive Method®, a six-week experience that helps leaders set a vision and stay focused on it while bringing out the best in their people and themselves.
A coach since 2007, Jen’s client experience spans advertising, design, technology, real estate, nonprofits and insurance, among other fields. She is certified in Leadership Circle Profile, Results Coaching Systems (now The Neuroleadership Group) and Team Coaching International. Her clients have included Media Arts Lab, LatinWorks, Team One, Wexley School for Girls, JDI, and executives at Apple, PayPal, and Dell.
Beyond The Creative Executive, Jen launched and curated the first years of TEDxAustin as co-executive producer. She has also presented at SXSW and CreativeMornings Austin and served on the programming committee for Culturati Summit. Jen lives in Austin with her husband, Jeff Maki, and their son, Leo.
